During the predawn hours, winds will increase ahead of a low pressure system moving east through the lower Great Lakes. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected through this afternoon, possibly gusting to 45 mph in a few spots. Wind is expected to decrease overnight but remain relatively strong at 20-25 mph this evening.
Please be aware of these strong winds especially if driving a higher profile vehicle. Secure loose outdoor objects and shore up seasonal decorations if possible.

Phyllis A. Baltes
Phyllis A. Baltes, 60, St. Henry, died Aug. 6, 2010, at her home.
She was born Nov. 12, 1949, to Gregor and Genevieve (Dues) Schmitz. On Oct. 6, 1972, she married Carl Baltes, who survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Julie Baltes, Coldwater, and Lynn (Mark) Lauber, Cranberry Prairie; five sisters, Elaine (Ken) Reichert, St. Henry, Carol (Liny) Hartings, Coldwater, Judy (Jim) Albers, Wapakoneta, Nancy Kanney, Coldwater, and Joyce (Denny) Borgert, Wapakoneta; and four grandchildren.
She graduated from St. Henry High School in 1968 and St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in April 1971. She was a retired nursing supervisor at Mercer Health in Coldwater.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry Catholic Church, St. Henry. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
