Labor Day tradition

Several people are served beans on Labor Day at the 112th annual Durbin Bean Bake, a gathering held in a wooded area off Erastus-Durbin Road, west of Celina. The event - originally organized in 1898 - included games, a memorial service for veterans and other activities.
