Scattered snow showers occurring across the area will slowly diminish through the evening. These snow showers will continue to cause brief reductions in visibility. In addition, as temperatures fall, the snow showers could produce a light coating of snow on roadways. This will result in the potential for some slick spots to develop. Motorists should be prepared for changing conditions this evening and exercise extra caution.

Charlotte Borchers
Charlotte M. (Shorty) Borchers, 91, formerly of Minster, died at 10 a.m. Oct. 22, 2010, at Heritage Manor Nursing Center, Minster, where she had been a resident four years.
She was born Oct. 27, 1918, in Chickasaw, to August and Mathilda (Rentz) Niekamp. She was married to Leo F. Rutschilling, who died Aug. 3, 1971. She then married Clarence Borchers, who died Aug. 19, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Liz and Monty McDermitt, Minster, and a sister-in-law, Grace Niekamp, Minster.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Homer and Morris (Bud) Niekamp, and a sister, Beulah Knapke.
She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and was a member of the women's church choir. She had worked as a waitress at the Wooden Shoe Inn in Minster for 20 years and also at The Post Printing and Wagner's IGA in Minster.
Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery.
Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
Memorial donations may be made to Heritage Manor Activity Fund and Grand Lake Hospice.
