Frank Allsup
Frank L. Allsup Sr., 80, St. Marys, died at 1:40 p.m. Jan. 8, 2011, at St. Marys Living Center.
He was born July 21, 1930, in Alexis, Ill., to Warren L. and Rhoda McCoy Allsup. On April 23, 1949, he married Lola Jean Pitzer, who survives.
Also surviving are six children, Frances Jean Shepherd, Ottumwa, Iowa, Bonnie (Sam) Brown, Vallonia, Ind., Debbie Hurt, Delphos, Frank Allsup Jr., Delphos, Warren (Donna) Allsup, Bloomington, Ind., and Vanessa (Frank) Fortman, St. Marys; two brothers, John Allsup, Fairfield, Iowa, and Joseph Allsup, Kenton; two sisters, Naomi (Bill) Scholenbaum, Coal Valley, Ill., and Betty Allsup, Decatur, Ill.; 16 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Deceased is a son-in-law, Michael Shepherd.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and its active Naval Reserve Corps. He worked in the logging industry in Reynolds, Ill., and for Allsup Logging Co. in Spencerville.
Funeral rites are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in St. Marys, the Rev. Bruce Head officiated. Burial with full graveside military honors will be at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
