Weathering the storms
Photo by Mark Pummell/The Daily Standard

A Canada goose stands with a couple goslings on the boat launch at West Bank Park this morning. While nearly a half-inch of rain fell since Sunday, this April has not yet set a record for rainfall in the Grand Lake area, says Dennis Howick, local weather forecaster. However, rainy weather is expected to continue through Thursday, further delaying farmers' planting. Rainfall also is predicted Sunday. This fits with the old lore of rain on Easter Sunday means seven more Sundays of rain.
