This architectural sketch shows the new Vantage adult education center and the Cup and Saucer restaurant entrances. A groundbreaking ceremony is planned between 1:30-2 p.m. Sunday for the new addition at Vantage Career Center, 818 N. Franklin St., Van Wert, with an open house from 1-3 p.m. The Ohio School Facilities Commission project is adding 69,000 square feet, along with renovating the current facility. Three training labs will be relocated in new space, and overcrowded classrooms will be increased to average size. The building's electrical, plumbing and heating systems also will be replaced with high-efficiency systems. Garmann Miller Architects, Minster, has designed the building and Gilbane Construction is the general contractor. Completion is expected in 18 months.
