Sheriff: Deputy shortage a hazard
CELINA - Emergency response time of deputies is increasing due to a shortage of officers, Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey said.
Grey explained the problem to county commissioners Tuesday while asking for permission to employ additional staff despite a countywide hiring freeze.
