Electricity use rockets

CELINA - Electricity usage surged in Celina last month as the city experienced hot and humid weather. One day may have been record-breaking.
Utility customers used 22.16 megawatt hours in July, compared to 18 megawatt hours in June. Usage in the earlier months ranged from 13.2 in April to 20.1 in January. [More]
New water wells, treatment plant bring adequate water supply

ROCKFORD - Water levels in the village's water tower and wells have not dropped at all this summer, sparing the community from water consumption advisories.
In the past, residents were warned to limit usage during summer months. The village now has more than enough water because of the new system, village administrator Jeff Long said during a Monday council meeting. [More]

Mercer County Commissioners on Tuesday approved a $63,496 contract with J&M Excavating of Cloverdale to remove jammed logs in the St. Marys River.
