Dixie Gaeke
Dixie Lee Gaeke, 71, a resident of Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices and a former resident of Troy and Tipp City, died at 12:50 p.m. Oct. 14, 2011, at Otterbein.
She was born March 31, 1940, in Arcanum. Her first husband, Keith Rhoades, is deceased. On June 18, 2002, she married Joseph Gaeke, who survives at Otterbein.
Surviving are two children, Elizabeth Burton, Troy, and Susan (Ron) Bennett, Tipp City; four stepchildren, Jennifer (Mark) Zeller, Troy, Barbara (Sam) Booth, Xenia, Elizabeth (Scott) Hamilton, Kettering, and Mary Ann (Rob) Gettell, Centerville; and six grandchildren.
Also deceased are her parents and a sister.
A 1958 graduate of Kaiser High School, she retired as a secretary from Remax Realty in Troy and Tipp City. She formerly worked at Prudential Insurance in Troy and served on many resident committees at Otterbein.
Services are 1 p.m. Wednesday at Meyer Chapel on the Otterbein campus, the Rev. Carol Sainey officiating. Burial rites will be conducted Thursday in Tipp City.
