Dick Lee Herron
Former Piqua resident Dick Lee Heron, Minster, died at 6:37 p.m. Oct. 17, 2011, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton.
He was born April 20, 1936, in Piqua, to Stanley and Alma Gump Herron. On Jan. 3, 1953, he married Goldie Tamplin, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Becky (Dennis) Latham and Tammy (Chris) Burnside, all of Piqua, Dawn (Rick) Christy, Houston, and Kimberly Jo Herron, Hendersonville, Tenn.; a sister, Diana Lindsey, Covington; two brothers, Dan Herron, Piqua, and Bob (Shirley) Herron, Covington; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a sister, Joan Herron; two brothers, David and Jerry Herron; and a great-grandson, Damian Latham.
He attended Bradford and Piqua high schools. He owned Herron's Logging for 38 year. He also sold fruits and vegetables in Piqua for several years.
Graveside services are 1 p.m. Thursday at Forest Hill Cemetery, Piqua, the Rev. Don Trumbull officiating.
