The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Moving the muck

About 10,000 feet of dredge line is being stored at Windy Point in preparation for dredging on Grand Lake this year, said state park manager Brian Miller Thursday. Another 4,000 feet is stored at the Mercer Wildlife Area off state Route 703. The state park this year hopes to remove 275,000 cubic yards of sediment from the lake. Projects planned are the Anderson channel near the Mercer County Sportsmen Club, the mouth of the Otterbein Retirement Community channel, Riley Bay just east of the Lake Campus, the mouth of Coldwater Creek at U.S. 127, the mouth and part of the channel at It's It Road, the mouth of Breezewood subdivision channel, the mouth and part of Little Chickasaw Creek and the mouth of Prairie Creek.
