Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off.
The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today.
Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset as temperatures begin to drop below freezing.
Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Fred Sipes
Fred R. Sipes, 68, St. Marys, died at 7:19 a.m. May 9, 2012, at his home.
He was born July 15, 1943, in Lima, to Ray Robert and Hilda Mabel Virtue Sipes. On Aug. 14, 1969, he married June E. Whitesell, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Chris (Melissa) Sipes, Neptune, and Ian Sipes, Neptune; a daughter, Gina (Jeremiah) Schaeffer, Dixon, Mo.; a brother, Ronald D. Sipes, Lima; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Deceased is a sister, Sherry Ann Pratt.
He was a 1961 graduate of Lima Senior High School. He received a bachelor of science degree in administration and a master of science degree in education at Bethel College, a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Wright State University, and a doctorate of philosophy in clinical hypnotherapy at American International University.
He retired from Golden Valley Living Center after many years of service in the medical field. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Marys.
Services are 11 a.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, St. Marys, Michael Bissegger officiating. Burial is at Resthaven Memory Gardens, St. Marys.
