* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 104 possible.
* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of excessive heat and humidity combined with very warm low temperatures can be especially hazardous as the overnight hours provide little relief from the heat. The heat may continue into Wednesday.

Jane Talan
Former New Bremen resident Jane P. Talan, 74, of Fairview Park, died May 17, 2012, at her home.
She was born July 15, 1937, in New Bremen to Paul and Pauline Vornholt Gilberg. On July 16, 1966, she married Albert Talan, who died Nov. 22, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Albert P. Talan, Fairview Park, and David M. (Angelica) Talan, Virginia; siblings, Alice (Duane) Hartwig, John (Joyce) Gilberg and Bill Gilberg, all of New Bremen, and Kathryn (Art) Beel, Westlake; and two grandchildren.
She most recently worked as a dietician at Coffinberry Early Education Center in Fairview Park. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Lakewood, where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Mission Society. A 1956 graduate of New Bremen High School, she received a dietician degree from The Ohio State University, Columbus.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church with burial to follow at Lakewood Park Cemetery.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Zeis-Mcgreevey Funeral Home, Lakewood.
Local contributions may be made to the sand dam project at St. Paul United Church of Christ, New Bremen.
