Scattered snow showers will become more widespread through this afternoon and then likely linger into this evening before tapering off into tonight. The snow showers will be capable of causing brief periods of reduced visibilities, especially this afternoon. In addition, brisk conditions will prevail with west winds gusting in the 30 to 40 mph range today. Light snow accumulations will be possible, mainly on grassy and elevated surfaces. While roads will remain mostly wet during the daytime hours, some slick spots may develop toward sunset and beyond as temperatures drop below freezing. Please be prepared for the changing weather conditions today and the potential for reduced visibilities when driving.

Dry conditions have sparked numerous field fires in Mercer County this past week. This wheat field southeast of the intersection of Fleetfoot and state Route 119 caught fire earlier this week.
Ongoing hot, dry weather is giving farmers and firefighters a rough time.
More than a dozen mostly wheat field and ditch fires have been reported in Mercer County this week, the 911 log shows. None have been reported so far in Auglaize County. [More]
