During the predawn hours, winds will increase ahead of a low pressure system moving east through the lower Great Lakes. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph are expected through this afternoon, possibly gusting to 45 mph in a few spots. Wind is expected to decrease overnight but remain relatively strong at 20-25 mph this evening.
Please be aware of these strong winds especially if driving a higher profile vehicle. Secure loose outdoor objects and shore up seasonal decorations if possible.

Thomas Stone Jr.
Thomas Stone Jr., 76, Portland, Ind., died July 18, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 30, 1935, to Thomas and Agnes Constable Stone. On Aug. 25, 1973, he married Betty Miller, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Brian (Sheila) Gillett, Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law, Irene Stone, Fort Recovery; and three grandchildren.
He was a graduate of Lima Technical College and served in the Army. He worked as a die setter for Teleflex, Van Wert; New Idea, Coldwater; Yost construction, Elyria; and Fort Recovery Journal Newspaper.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #211, Portland Moose Lodge and Beta Sigma Phi.
Funeral services are 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Pastor Paul VanCise officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery, with military graveside rites by the American Legion.
Calling is 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Bryant Wesleyan Church Building Fund, Jay County Cancer Society or State of the Heart Hospice.
