The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a statewide Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio as smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to adversely impact air quality.
Pollutants across the state are expected to range from the 'Unhealthy For Sensitive Groups' category in the southwest part of the state to the 'Unhealthy' category in the rest of the state. Hourly concentrations at times may reach the 'Very Unhealthy' to 'Hazardous' categories.
It is recommended, when possible, to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially those with heart disease and respiratory conditions like asthma. Watch for symptoms including wheezing, coughing, chest tightness, dizziness, or burning in the nose, throat, and eyes.

Gerald Koesters
Gerald L. "Jerry" Koesters, 65, Dublin, died Aug. 16, 2012, at the Kobacker House following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 30, 1946, in Celina to Albert and Vivian Tekamp Koesters. His mother survives; his father is deceased. On May 4, 1968, he married Pat Wendeln, who also survives.
Other survivors include a son, Todd (Colleen) Koesters, Plain City; two daughters, Amy (Paul) Houden, Middleton, Wisc., and Melissa (Brook) Pickrell, Dublin; six grandchildren; a brother, Tim (Karen) Koesters, Fort Wayne, Ind; and a sister, Barbara (Bill) Hamberg, St. Marys.
Also deceased is an infant brother, Daniel.
He received a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Dayton and worked as an accountant and realtor, most recently employed in computer sales. He also was a reservist in the U.S. Army.
Funeral service is 3 p.m. Sunday with calling 1-3 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home, Plain City, the Rev. Pat Toner officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Union County Honor Guard.
