Eugene Pleiman
Eugene B. Pleiman, 80, Russia, died at 5:14 p.m. Sept. 21, 2012, at Wilson Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 8, 1932, to August and Lavera Voisard Pleiman. On Nov. 28, 1953, he married Mary Louise Finfrock, who died Sept. 21, 2001.
Surviving are three daughters, Becky Pleiman, Russia, Diann (David) McGarvey, Davidsonville, Md., and Lori Ward, Lebanon; and seven siblings, David (Ruth) Pleiman, Fort Loramie, Marceil (Patrick) Kuhn, Florida, Ruth (Norman) Davidson, Russia, Rita (Michael) Utz, Fort Loramie, Marilyn (Richard) Sherman, Russia, John (Elaine) Pleiman, Tipp City, and Thomas (Christine) Pleiman, Greenville; and two grandchildren.
Also deceased are a daughter, Connie; an infant son, Michael; and a brother, Edward.
He graduated from Russia High School and Miami University, where he studied history. He worked at the foundry and at Shep's Restaurant. He served in the U.S. Army Counter Intelligence Corps during the Korean Conflict.
Later he worked for GM, Kelsey-Hayes Steel Products, Borg-Warner of Fremont and Mansfield Brass and Aluminum Corp.
Memorial Mass is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, the Rev. Frank Amberger officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
