Clarence Tuente
Clarence B. Tuente, 84, Maria Stein, died Jan. 4, 2013, at his home.
He was born March 30, 1928, in Maria Stein, to Henry and Agatha Riethman Tuente. He married Dorothy K. Kuess on Sept. 2, 1950, in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and she preceded him in death on May 20, 1995.
He is survived by daughters, Kathy (Wayne) Gruebmeyer, New Bremen, Elaine (Werner) Heckman, Maria Stein, Karen (Richard) Scott, Maria Stein; special friend, Yolanda Schmiesing, New Bremen; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Evers, St. Henry; in-laws, Betty (Aloys) Jutte, Osgood, Mildred (Edwin) Prenger, Coldwater, Ernest (Gladys) Kuess, Coldwater, Elmer Kuess, Celina, Esther Kuess, Chickasaw, Delores Muhlenkamp, Portland, Ind., and Irene (Paul) Heckman, Delhart, Texas.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Tuente, and in-laws, Henry Evers, Lavern Kuess, Irma Kuess and Alvin Muhlenkamp.
He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, St. Rose, and the Men's Sodality of the church. He was past president of the Knights of St. John, Maria Stein, past president of the New Bremen Senior Citizens and a member of Minster FOE 1391. He was a lifelong farmer and a school bus driver for Marion Local Schools.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Rose Catholic Church, the Rev. Thomas Brenberger celebrant.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial is at St. Rose Cemetery.
