Spelling bee champ

Logan Ranly, an eighth-grader at Fort Recovery Middle School, won the Mercer County Spelling Bee on Monday evening following 15 rounds of competition. The winning word was "giantesque." The annual event was held at Wright State University-Lake Campus with 24 students from Coldwater, Fort Recovery, Marion Local, St. Henry and Parkway participating. Each was a spelling bee winner in his or her respective school. Placing second was Kyle Naumann, a seventh-grader at St. Henry, and third was Emma Brunswick, a sixth-grader at Marion Local. The event is coordinated by the Mercer County Educational Service Center.
