Vincent Gruss
Vincent E. Gruss, 77, of Coldwater, died Feb. 24, 2013, at The Gardens at Celina.
He was born Aug. 22, 1935, in St. Anthony, to Isidore and Mary (Gaerke) Gruss. On April 4, 1959, he married Mary Ann Eyink, who survives in Coldwater.
He also is survived by five children, Katherine (Randy) Homan, Celina, Michael (Kathy) Gruss, St. Henry, Mark (Anne) Gruss, Celina, Gary Gruss, Powell, and William (Bec) Gruss, Chagrin Falls; a son-in-law, Phil Tobe, Fort Recovery; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Irene (Gerald) Timmerman, Fort Recovery, and Rita Eyink, Coldwater; and sisters-in-law, Rose Gruss, Coldwater, and Frances Gruss, Ossian, Ind.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Tobe; brothers, Victor Gruss, Lavern and Ruth Gruss and Donald Gruss; and a brother-in-law, Edgar Eyink.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, 1956-1958, serving in Germany. He was the former owner of Rish Plumbing in Coldwater. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Men's Holy Name Society, the Knights of Columbus #1991, past president and member of the Coldwater Eagles, past president of the Coldwater Lions Club and a past trustee of the Coldwater Community Picnic.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater, with military rites.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-10 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
