John Thees
John E. "Jack" Thees, 69, Celina, died of natural causes at 8:43 a.m. Feb. 27, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 13, 1943, in Celina to Myron and Ruth Christian Thees. On July 22, 1967, he married Carol Kincaid, who survives.
Other survivors are two sons, Tim (Heidi) Thees, Celina, and Matthew (Jill) Thees, Scarborough, Maine; a daughter, Rebecca "Becky" (Mike) Garwood, Celina; two brothers, Don (Patty) Thees, Celina, and Bob (Barb) Thees, Celina; two sisters, Mildred Crouch, Celina, and Marjorie Miller, Celina; a sister-in-law, Darlene Thees, Celina; and grandchildren, Derek Drummond, Andy Garwood, Beth Garwood, Nick Garwood, Sara Thees, Sophia Thees and Garrett Thees.
Deceased is a brother, Ron Thees.
He was a member of the Ohio National Guard and a 1961 graduate of Celina High School. He was a self-employed owner of Thees Machine & Tool, Celina, and a member of the Celina American Legion. He coached Little League baseball, was Den Master for Cub Scout Troop 69, had a passion for golfing and enjoyed trap shooting and bowling.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina, the Rev. Kenneth Schnipke officiating. Burial is at Mercer Memory Gardens, Celina, with graveside military rites conducted by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
