Cletus F. Wenning, 84, Osgood, died at 9:15 a.m. on April 26, 2013, at his home.

He was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Yorkshire to Anton and Sophia Hoelscher Wenning, who are both deceased. On May 14, 1955, he married Lois Schlarman in St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, and she survives in Osgood.

Also surviving are children, Robert L. (Sarah) Wenning, Evanston, Ill., Lisa G. (Dale) Mescher, Minster, Timothy G. (Anita) Wenning, Columbus, Steven A. (Lori) Wenning, Ansonia, Douglas J. (Carolyn) Wenning, Troy; eight grandchildren; a sister and brother, Theresa Alexander, Russia, and Leo (Marge) Wenning, Yorkshire; in-laws Frances "Fritz" Wenning, Dayton, Velma Magoteaux, Osgood, Clara (Ohmer) Brandewie, Osgood, Lucille Ketering, Eaton, Imelda Stucke, Osgood, and Hugo (Betty) Schlarman, Osgood.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jonathon; a grandson, Drew Mescher; brothers and sisters, Henry Wenning, Josephine (Harold) Bruns, Rita (Leo) Bollheimer and Elizabeth Schlarman; in-laws, Herbert (June) Schlarman, Rosella (Wilfred) Tanner, Ralph Magoteaux, Eileen Schlarman, Bill Ketering and Roman Stucke.

He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and retired from Minster Machine.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, the Rev. David Zink celebrant.

Calling is 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster. Burial will take place in St. Martin Cemetery, Osgood.
