Ruth H. Langsdon, 93, St. Marys, died at 11:55 a.m. June 3, 2013, at St. Marys Living Center.

She was born June 29, 1919, in Auglaize County, to Albert and Hilda Elshoff Schultz. She married Dick Johns on June 2, 1946, and he died Oct. 26, 1955. She married Richard Langsdon on May 27, 1967, and he died March 22, 1995.

Survivors are her children, Judy (Mike) Glavaris of Arlington, S.D., Kraig (Miriam) Johns of St. Marys; a stepson, Thomas (Barbara) Langsdon of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren, Karah Glavaris, Adam Johns and Micah Johns; three step-grandchildren, Amy (Rob) Cisco, Kathryn Cassey and Whitney Langsdon; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and her brother, John W. Schultz Sr. of St. Marys.

She was also preceded in death by a sister, Luella (Schultz) Russell, and a brother, Almond A. Schultz.

She was a 1939 graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and Capital University in Columbus.

She had taught school for a number of years, and was a partner in the Johns' Furniture Store in downtown St. Marys for many years. She was a member of the Mother's Study Club, Joint Township District Memorial Hospital Guild and Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys. She taught Sunday School for numerous years and was very active on the funeral dinner committee of the church. She also enjoyed reading and attending the musical and sporting events of her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a very sweet, friendly person.

Funeral rites are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in St. Marys, the Rev. Bill Maki officiant. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.

Calling is 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Long and Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys.

Memorials may be given to Zion Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
