* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Bruce Byer
Bruce R. "Barney" Byer, 59, Ohio City, died the morning of June 7, 2013, at Van Wert County Hospital.
He was born March 13, 1954, in Van Wert County, to Virgil Ione McDorman and Harold Byer, who are deceased.
Survivors include a friend, Mary Gallaway, Ohio City; two children, Amanda Thomas, Van Wert, and Erik Byer, Van Wert; two brothers, Tony (Kelley) Byer, Celina, and Jason Byer, Ohio City; four sisters, Phyllis (Phil) Battels, Ada, Linda (Jack) Tice, Convoy, Leandra (Vince) Brummette, Van Wert, and Tammy (Gary Jr.) Carter, Van Wert; three grandchildren, Patrick Thomas, Alexandria Thomas and Skylar Byer; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Mark Byer.
He retired from Kennedy Manufacturing, Van Wert, after 35 years of service. He was a member of Rockford Eagles, Rockford Sons of the American Legion and Willshire Sportsman Club. He was a former member of Wetzel Motorcycle Club.
No services are scheduled.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory, Van Wert.
