Ruth Zimmerman
Ruth Zimmerman, 77, formerly of St. Marys, died June 11, 2013 at Carolina Medical Center - Northeast in Concord, NC.
She was born Oct. 16, 1935, in Dorchester Co., S.C., to Le Roy and Annie Laurie Mizell Hilton.
On Oct. 15, 1960, she married Richard Zimmerman, who died March 11, 1993.
She is survived by two sons, Anthony Wertenberger of Fort Wayne, Ind., and R. Troy (Anna Langenkamp) Zimmerman of St. Marys; two daughters, Anne (Jimmy Rivera) Stewart of Convoy and Renee (Charlie Breeding) Gilbert of Albemarle, N.C.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Le Roy Hilton and Robert (Georgiana) Hilton, both of South Carolina.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Hilton.
She managed the club room at the VFW Post #9289 in St. Marys for 27 years, where she also volunteered countless hours as a lifetime member of the ladies auxiliary.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Miller-Long & Folk Funeral Home, St. Marys. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Calling is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
