Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

John Schroeder
John R. Schroeder, 81, St. Marys, died suddenly at 11:02 a.m. Aug. 13, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born March 11, 1932, in Delphos, to Russell and Doris Ashby Schroeder. He married Carol Bruner Sept. 4, 1954, and she survives.
Other survivors are his two children, Russell Schroeder of St. Marys and Ellen Smith of St. Marys; four grandchildren, Philip Rigano Jr., Andrea Arnold, Jacob Schroeder and Joshua Schroeder; four great-grandchildren, Gage Mullins, Colton Roebins, Brooklyn Johnson and Nathan Rigano; and a sister, Florence Spring of Medina.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Fanning and Jane Mottinger.
He was a 1950 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired from Excello Corporation in Lima. He was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Lima, where he had served as a deacon and church organist. He was a member of the St. Marys Garden Club and had enjoyed roller skating when he was younger.
Funeral rites are 2 p.m. Friday at Miller Funeral Home, West Chapel, in St. Marys. Burial will follow at Kossuth Cemetery.
Calling is noon until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the Community of Christ Church.
