Virginia Knapke
Virginia, L. "Ginny" Knapke, 77, St. Henry, died Oct. 19, 2013, at the Van Wert Hospice Center.
She was born July 1, 1936, in Celina, to Raymond and Josephine (Heyne) Dues. On Oct. 6, 1954, she married Alfred Knapke in Carthagena and he died Dec. 27, 1996.
Surviving are four sons, Tom (Kathy) Knapke, Rockville, Ind.; Mike (Marilyn) Knapke, Portland, Ind.; John (Doreen) Knapke, Kettering; and Mark (Amy) Knapke, Coldwater; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; siblings, Alice (Roger) Klosterman of Florida; Viola (Arnold) Westgerdes, Fort Recovery; Robert (Joan) Dues, Houston; Donald (Linda) Dues, Coldwater; Mary Jane Severt, Traverse City, Mich.; and Patricia (Greg) Myers, Adrian, Mich., and a sister-in-law, Janet Dues, Portland.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Dues.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, the Ladies Rosary Altar Sodality of the church and the Coldwater Eagles Auxiliary. She formerly worked at the Spiritual Center in Maria Stein and volunteered at the church and Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Coldwater.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9-10 Wednesday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
