Ronald Dirksen
Ronald James Dirksen, 64, New Weston, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Nov. 6, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 30, 1949 in Mercer County to Gregory and Elizabeth Wilkinson Dirksen. On April 4, 1970, he married Marilyn M. Treon, who survives.
Also surviving are daughters and son-in-law, Angela (Dan) Brown, Ansonia and Christine Kruckeberg and fiance, Kevin Grilliot, Willowdell; grandchildren, Tosha, Zachary, Megan, Cody, McKinzie, Kaia and Riley; great-grandchildren, Kensley and Zailey; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clete Dirksen, New Weston, David (Rosemary) Dirksen, Madison, Wis., John (Shirley) Dirksen, Portersville, Miss., and Michael (Sherry) Dirksen, Union City, Ind.; a sister, Kathleen Gasson, Versailles; sisters-in-law, Anita Dirksen, Rossburg, and Kathy (Randy) Schulze of Hawaii; best bud, Carly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased are his parents, Gregory and Elizabeth Wilkinson Dirksen; his brothers, William and Ben Dirksen; and twin sisters, Mary Margret and Mary Ann Dirksen in infancy.
He was a retired mechanic and former owner of Ron's Lawn Mower Repair. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, and the Poor Farmers Tractor Pulling Association. He was an avid woodworker and Cleveland Browns fan. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed camping, tractor pulling and NASCAR racing. He sponsored a youth league baseball team in Ansonia for many years and was a supporter of the Relay for Life Team Vision of Hope.
A Memorial Mass of Cremation is 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, the Rev. Fr. David Zink officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in North Star.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Association of Darke County or State of the Heart Hospice.
