Thanksgiving Day meals

Turkey with all the trimmings topped area menus Thursday. Volunteers Chris Muhlenkamp, left, and Ed Beck prepare a plate at the annual Giving Thanks dinner at the former Franklin Elementary School in Montezuma. Similar meals were served at the Minster Knights of Columbus Hall and Celina and St. Marys Memorial high schools. Gordon Wolfe and members of Montezuma United Methodist Church started the holiday tradition in 1997 with 28 attendees. It has become a community event with numerous of volunteers.
