Alberta Brandon
A Celebration of Life will be held for Alberta Marie Brandon, 97, at 3 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Celina. Everyone is invited to join the Brandon family in the fellowship hall for a meal immediately following the service.
She passed away Jan. 2, 2014, at Heatherdowns Rehabilitation and Nursing Care Facility in Toledo. She was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Celina, to Lee and Gladys Ryder Fast.
She graduated from Celina High School in 1934. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was active in the Celina History Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also was a member of the Philomathean Reading Club in Bloomington, Ill., where she resided with her daughter, Susan, for 14 years. She loved to travel, was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing bridge.
On Nov. 9, 1935, she married William E. Brandon in Celina. He preceded her in death Nov. 5, 1990.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Brandon (late Bob Smith), Maumee, Susan Brandon (Chares E. Davies), Maumee; and a son, William E. (Connie) Brandon Jr.; two grandchildren, Julie (Gary) Eskue and Jill (Philippe) Boucaumont; three great-grandsons, William Zapata, Kevin Zapata and Cade Boucaumont, all of Missouri City, Texas; a sister, Betty Czerwiec (late Julian), Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held Jan. 4, 2014, at North Grove Cemetery in Celina, the Rev. Matt Reynolds officiating.
