FORT RECOVERY - Cooper Farms has completed its acquisition of Fort Recovery Equity Exchange, a member-owned cooperative that produces eggs and pullets (young chickens) in Fort Recovery.
Cooper Farms in May announced its intent to purchase the co-op and said the companies had been in discussions for 18 months. [More]

CELINA - Mercer County Commissioners on Thursday took action on proposed revolving loans to help establish a new restaurant in Celina and a manufacturing business in St. Henry.
Commissioners agreed to notify the public of their intent to request $100,000 in Community Development Block Grants to loan to Good Food Inc. for a fast-food style restaurant to be built at 911 E. Wayne St., the site of a former roller rink. [More]

Local farmers can apply for funds to begin conservation practices to reduce harmful algae blooms in Lake Erie.
The funds are available through the Lake Erie Nutrient Reduction Program that was signed into law this year by Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

Fort Recovery had four strong rounds of golf in capturing the Lancer Boys Golf Invitational on Thursday at Hickory Sticks in Van Wert. The meet was postponed on Monday due to weather.
