Laurena Frilling
Laurena "Renie" Frilling, 92, St. Marys, died at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 1, 2014, at Otterbein Retirement Community, St. Marys.
She was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Sharpsburg, to John Sr. and Rosa Kramer Siefring. On June 17, 1947, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, she married Wilbert "Webb" Frilling, who died Nov. 8, 2003.
Surviving are nine children, Joann (Gary) Liming, St. Marys, Dave (Deb) Frilling, St. Marys, Tom (Deb) Frilling, St. Marys, Kathy (Lloyd) Schwieterman, St. Sebastian, Mary Lou (Jerry) Bambauer, New Bremen, Debra (John) Kilbury, Dublin, Paul (Kris) Frilling, St. Marys, Sharon (Doug) Jeanneret, Circleville, and Ed (Shelly) Frilling, Hilliard; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; four siblings, Pauline (Leo) Kunk, Tuscon, Ariz., Delores (Tom) Hemmelgarn, Burkettsville, Wilbert (Monica) Siefring, Louisville, Ky., and Barb Winner, Maria Stein; three sisters-in-law, Pauline Siefring, Decatur, Ind., Ruth Siefring, St. Marys, and Margie Siefring, Celina; and many special friends.
Also deceased are five siblings, Lawrence Siefring, Mary Heitkamp, Harold Siefring, Paul Siefring and John Siefring; a brother-in-law, Gene Winner; and a sister-in-law, Joy Siefring.
She was the owner of Lakeside Superette for many years and later worked 14 years in the meat department at Pantry Pride Market. She enjoyed sewing, reading, walking, bingo, playing cards and swimming.
She was an active member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Marys, where she was a member of the Altar Sodality of the church. She also was as a member of American Legion Post 323 Auxiliary. She will be remembered for her friendly and warm personality.
Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church St. Marys, Fr. Barry Stechschulte officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, St. Marys.
Calling is 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Miller Funeral Home, west chapel, St. Marys, where a vigil service will be held at 6 p.m., led by Deacon Marty Brown.
Memorials may be given to either the Auglaize County Council on Aging or to the Friends of Holy Rosary School.
