* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Nihla Davis
Nihla George Davis, 92, North Star, died at 2:45 a.m. Jan. 27, 2015, at State of the Heart Hospice Inpatient Unit at Wayne Hospital, Greenville.
She was born Jan. 16, 1923, in North Star, to William and Laura Gelhaus George. On Dec. 30, 1944, in Norfolk, Va., she married Albert F. Davis, who died in 1977.
Surviving are two sons, Kent (Betty) Davis and Dick Davis, all of North Star; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jo (Pete Kilmartin) Davis of Tennessee; an ex-wife, Jean Unger, Dayton; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Jonathan, Joshua, Rob, Penny, Kathleen, Alex, Kylie, Emily, Laura and Michelle; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Schlarman, North Star; and a sister-in-law, Roberta George, Santa Barbara, Calif.
Also deceased are three sons, Keith, Bruce and Mark; a sister, Laverne (George) Schuette; and two brothers, Richard George and James (Ann) George.
She was a 1941 graduate of Versailles High School and attended Ohio Northern University at the age of 45. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, and St. Ann's Ladies Sodality. She also was a member of the North Star American Legion Auxiliary for 67 years, a charter member of the Darke County Board of Mental Retardation and NAIM of the North. She served 12 years on Ansonia Rescue and 60 years as North Star village clerk.
She and her husband owned and operated Davis Pure Oil and later Davis Camper Sales until his death in 1977. She and her son, Kent, operated Davis Camper Sales until her retirement in 1987, when Kent and his wife, Betty, took over. She recently became a member of the Versailles Area Museum and wrote the history of North Star.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, the Rev. David Zink officiating. Burial will follow at St. Louis Cemetery.
Calling is 3-8 p.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Russia, and 9-10 a.m. Saturday at the church.
