Steven Trzaska
Steven A. Trzaska, 49, Minster, died on Feb. 15, 2015, following an accident at his family farm.
He was born April 5, 1965, in Kettering, to Theodore and Theresa Karpinski Trzaska, who survive in Dayton. On Aug. 24, 1991, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Dayton, he married Bonnie Schmiesing, who survives in Minster.
Also surviving are his children, Ted, Joe, Jenny, Phil, Jim and Beth, all at home; brothers and sisters, Tom and Mary Elizabeth Trzaska, Muskegon, Mich., Cathy Trzaska, Oakwood, Mary and Austin Welsh, Overland Park, Kan., Ann and Mike Moell, Centerville, Anthony and Lois Trzaska, Carmel, Ind., and Michael Trzaska, Kettering; father-in-law, John J. Schmiesing; in-laws, Sam and Jane Schmiesing, New Bremen, Sue McDaniel, New Bremen, Phil and Robin Schmiesing, Enterprise, Ala., Ken and Kathy Schmiesing, Hicksville, Mary and Mark Bornhorst, Minster, Dorothy and Steve Bruns, Minster, Therese and Rod Smith, Phoenix, Ariz., Charlie and Kathy Schmiesing, Columbus Grove, John and Jamie Schmiesing, Minster, Gary and Courtney Silver, Eureka, Calif., Martha and Steve Bohman, New Albany; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Deceased is his mother-in-law, Alice J. Schmiesing.
He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, and Minster American Legion. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1983 and Wright State University in 1990. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a firefighter/paramedic for the city of Huber Heights for 18 ½ years and worked at the Bicycle Museum of America, New Bremen. He had loved reading, riding his bike and spending time outdoors with his family.
Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster, the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial with full military honors by the Minster Firing Squad will take place at St. Augustine Cemetery, Minster.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 9-9:30 a.m. Friday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Trzaska Family Scholarship Fund.
