Ruth Schoenlein
Ruth E. Schoenlein, 94, St. Henry, died Feb. 19, 2015, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.
She was born July 12, 1920 in Philothea, to William and Elizabeth Stucke Ahrns. On Nov. 9, 1944, she married Bernard Schoenlein, who died Aug. 11, 1989.
Surviving are four daughters, Carolyn (Thomas) Hoyng, St. Henry, Ginny (Larry) Rammel, Greenville, Cynthia (Larry) Wenning, St. Henry and Deb (Dan) Hess, St. Henry; 20 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and in-laws, Lavern Wolters, Coldwater and Rita Schoenlein, St. Rose.
Also deceased are a daughter, Barbara (Daniel) Hoyng; a grandchild; a great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, John Ahrns, Ed Ahrns, Leo (Esther) Ahrns, Caroline (John) Hehr, Ann (Ray) Garke, Dorothy (Ed) Stachler and Rose Trammel; and in-laws Alfrieda Wolters, Roman Schoenlein, Albert (Victoria) Schoenlein, Mary (Vernon) Rutschilling and Esther (Walter) Rethman.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, its Ladies Altar Rosary Sodality and the Coldwater Eagles Auxiliary. She was a 1938 graduate of Coldwater High School and was retired from former Huffy in Celina. She enjoyed family, sewing, card playing and baking.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Henry Church. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 1-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Memorials may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or the Center for Neurological Development.
