Ilene Lange
Ilene 'Beany' Lange, age 80, of St. Henry, died on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at her home.
She was born March 4, 1935 in Frenchtown, to the late Chelcie & Alfreda (Goubeaux) Neargarder. On November 20, 1954, in Frenchtown, she married Leroy Lange, and he survives in St. Henry.
She is also survived by six children, Dan & Jody Lange of St. Henry, Nancy & Kevin Robie of Beavercreek, Fred & Shelli Lange of Kansas City, Missouri, Gary & Margaret (Peg) Lange of New Bremen, Kevin & Lisa Lange of St. Henry and Linda & Patrick Mescher of Bellbrook, 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Dot & Don Beers of Hamilton, Carl & Ruth Neargarder of Frenchtown, and in-laws, Lester Schmidt of Piqua, Joan Neargarder of Versailles, Cyril & Margie Lange of Ft. Loramie, Rita Schroer of St. Henry, Frances & Lawrence Gehret of Ft. Loramie, Cletus & Edna Lange of St. Henry, Louis & Martha Lange of Wapakoneta and Sally Lange of Celina.
She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Rita Schmidt, Don & Flora Neargarder, Virginia & Millard Sparks and Marion Neargarder and in-laws, Elmer Lange, Gene Lange, Marie & Albert Pottkotter, Cleo & Ralph Strete, Wilma & Sylvester Dues, Sr. Agnes Lange, C.PP.S, and Joe Schroer.
She was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church, spent countless hours volunteering for the Mercer County Council on Aging and received the Senior Citizen of the Year award, was retired from Mercer County Community Hospital and was an excellent cook and homemaker. Beany was an avid card and bingo player.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at St. Henry Catholic Church, with Fr. Tom Hemm, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Henry Cemetery, St. Henry.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater.
Memorials may be made to State of The Heart Hospice.
