* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast Indiana, northeast and northern Kentucky, and central, south central, southwest, and west central Ohio.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Tuesday evening.
* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events, particularly for those working or participating in outdoor activities.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Consecutive days of excessive heat and humidity can be especially hazardous as warm overnight temperatures will provide little relief. The heat may continue into Wednesday.

Virginia Laux
Virginia Ura Laux, 85, passed away peacefully at home on March 25, 2015 surrounded by her beloved husband, Ralph W. Laux, and their family.
Virginia was born in Jackson, Michigan to Jozef & Rozalia Ura, Polish immigrants. Virginia's two older siblings, Josephine and Edward, preceded her in death.
Virginia & Ralph married on August 20, 1955 and raised nine children: Teresa Laux; Christopher (Michelle) Laux; Frank (deceased – his wife Antonia) Laux; Daria Laux (Mike) Walpole; Maureen (Mark) Baker; Terence Laux; Giles (Barbie) Laux; Amy Laux; and Nicole (Jon) Sholly. Virginia & Ralph have 11 grandchildren: Jessica (Stephen); Cole; Abby (Kerry); Ruby (Tim); Caleb (Kimberly): Cassidy; Michelle R.; Ralph II; Emma; Madeline; and Lucy; along with three great-grandchildren: Abraham; Ezekiel; and Corinne.
Virginia was a voracious reader and meticulous planner, juggling the raising of their nine children while being actively involved in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Virginia worked at New Idea, the Jackson, Michigan branch, for eight years before marrying Ralph and settling down in Trinity, Indiana. Years later, after Niki, their youngest child started high school, Virginia returned to work, working at the Jay County Assessor Office - later becoming Deputy Assessor.
Virginia was known for being extraordinarily gracious, kind to all, and possessing a quick wit. Virginia, above all else, cherished her beloved husband, Ralph, and their family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Trinity, Indiana, on Saturday, March 28, 2015 @ 10:30 a.m. with Father David A. Hoying, C.P.P.S. presiding. Graveside services and burial follow immediately.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home, Portland, Indiana.
Contributions may be made in Virginia's memory & spirit to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Trinity, Indiana and/or State of the Heart Hospice, Jay County, Indiana.
