Roger Bowersock Sr.
Roger A. Bowersock Sr., 63, of 11398 State Route 364, Saint Marys, Ohio, died suddenly at 2:26 P.M. Tuesday, March 31, 2015, in the emergency department of Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in Saint Marys.
He was born October 28, 1951, in Lima, Ohio, the son of Norman and Betty (McElroy) Bowersock, who preceded him in death. He married Patty Fletcher on October 26, 1996, in Saint Marys, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his children: Roger (Christina) Bowersock, Jr. of Greenville, Ohio; April (Benji Mihm) Olmstead of Saint Marys; Anthony Bowersock of Columbus, Ohio; Amanda (Jon) Vale of San Diego, California; Austin Bowersock of Saint Marys. He is survived by his step-children: Amy (Mike) Clingman of Norwalk, Ohio; Derek Hughes of Piqua; Adam Smith of Piqua; Katie Collins of Saint Marys. He is survived by his grandchildren Josie, Izzy, Elijah, Alexandra; Natalie; Michael and Ayden; by his step-grandchildren: Dalton; Brenden; Jessica; Kayla; Christian and Xavier.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Roger was a 1970 graduate of Saint Marys Memorial High School. He served in the US Army from 1971-73. He had worked at Huffy Manufacturing Company and retired from Copeland in Sidney. He was currently employed as a motor carrier for the Saint Marys Evening Leader.
Roger loved playing softball and attending auto races. He assisted his son at Rocketship Sports Management Company. He was always willing to help with fundraising, especially for Toys for Tots. The joy of his life was spending time with his family.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Pastor Rick Brosher, officiant. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Monday at the funeral home, where memorial gifts may be given to Toys for Tots.
