Alvin Norton, age 61 a Portland resident passed away Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne.

He retired after 20 years from Createc in Portland. He was a member of the Portland Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Alvin Norton was born May 21, 1954 in Harlan, Kentucky the son of James and Altha (McKinney) Norton. He was married August 5, 1972 to Barbara Goff.

Survivors Include: His beloved wife-Barbara Norton, Portland, Indiana; 2 Sons-Joseph Norton (wife-Elizabeth), Celina, Ohio, Kelly Norton (wife-Julie), Portland, Indiana; 1 Daughter-Angela Haley, Portland, Indiana; 2 Brothers-Melvin Norton (wife-Mary), Celina, Ohio; William Norton, St. Marys, Ohio; 1 Sister-Linda Brooks, Celina, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.

Deceased Include: 2 sisters-Carol Stienecker and Gayle Boley; and 2 brothers-James Norton and Larry Norton.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Sunday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.

Funeral services will follow at 4:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date at Swamp College Cemetery in Mercer County, Ohio.
