Light snow across the area early this morning will increase in coverage and intensity toward sunrise in the I-70 corridor. This band of moderate snow will push south affecting the Tri-State region by mid morning, eventually pushing south of the area by early to mid afternoon.
Snow amounts of 1-2 inches will common for a good portion of the area on grassy surfaces, with melting on concrete surfaces limiting accumulations. Main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on mainly bridges and overpasses.
Temperatures today will remain steady mainly in the upper 20s. These cold temperatures combined with gusty winds of 20-25 mph will result in wind chill values in the teens to lower 20s.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Monday morning commute.

Mary Dixon
Mary E. Dixon, age 83 of Celina, passed away at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday Oct. 7, 2015 at the Celina Manor Nursing Home.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1931 in Kilgore, TX to the late Herbert Charles & Lola Esther (Buckley) Masonbrink. On July 22, 1956 she married Clarence E. Dixon, who passed away in 1975.
Survivors include her sons & daughter-in-law Ronald & Darla Dixon of Celina, Donald Dixon of Celina and daughter & son-in-law Cheryl & Robert Adams Jr. of Xenia, three grandchildren April & Doug Wendel, Eric Dixon, Savanna & James Steffen, five great grandchildren, sister Dola Smith of Celina, a sister-in-law Marilyn Ann Masonbrink of Celina and several Nieces and Nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brothers & sister-in-law William Edward & Ramona Faye Masonbrink, James Masonbrink and her brother-in-law John Smith.
She was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Celina. Mary retired from Huffy's Bicycle in Celina in 1989.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday Oct. 10, 2015 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Celina, with Rev. Jeff Gramza officiating. Burial will follow in the Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Friday Oct. 9, 2015 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina or an hour before services at the Church on Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice.
