Scattered snow showers occurring across the region will gradually diminish through 9 AM. Most locations will observe snow accumulations of an inch or less. In some of the better snow bands, locally up to 2 inches will be possible.
The cold temperatures will create slick roadways due to the coating of snow. Motorists should be aware that driving conditions may change quickly along their route, going from dry to slick. If traveling this morning, use extra caution and allow for extra time to reach your destination.

Coldwater wins battle of top-ranked teams, snaps Marion's 43-game winning streak

COLDWATER - A record crowd traveled to Cavalier Stadium on Friday night to watch defending state champions Marion Local and Coldwater clash.
It took a near record-long kick by Coldwater's Kyle McKibben to decide the outcome.
McKibben's 44-yard field goal with one second left lifted the Cavaliers past the Flyers, 17-14, in front of an estimated 6,700 on hand to witness a Midwest Athletic Conference game for the ages. [More]

Quirky hours fuel shortage

Officials from three Mercer County townships are seeking levies to fund fire protection and another is asking for additional dollars for road work.
All the proposed levies, if approved on the ballot Nov. 3, would become effective in 2016.
