Kenneth Jacobs
Kenneth E. Jacobs, 67, Wapakoneta, Ohio, died suddenly at 9:17 A.M. Monday, November 30, 2015, in the emergency department of St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born October 7, 1948, in Lima, the son of Andrew and Bernadine (Schuller) Jacobs. He married Rebecca Doseck on May 9, 1970, and she survives at the residence.
He is also survived by his children: Kendra (Scott) Seewer of Saint Marys; Kevin (Kris) Jacobs of Saint Marys; Keith (Julie) Jacobs of Saint Marys. He is survived by nine grandchildren: Drew Jacobs; Mitchell Seewer; Allison Jacobs; Morgan Seewer; Chase Jacobs; Ella Jacobs; Lauren Jacobs; Jillian Jacobs and Nathan Jacobs. He is survived by his siblings: Becky (Donald) Shaw of Spencerville; Leonard (Karen) Jacobs of Cridersville; Sharon (Dale) Rex of Spencerville; Karen (R. J.) Freed of Spencerville; Andy (Sue) Jacobs of Spencerville. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Nick (Barbara) Doseck of New Knoxville; by his sisters-in-law Diane (Fred) Piehl of New Knoxville; Kathy (Sid) Thompson of New Knoxville; Theresia (Wayne) Hedrick of Wapakoneta; by his brother-in-law Dan (Deb) Doseck of Athens, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister, Bernadine (Doc) Wertz and by a brother-in-law, Eugene Doseck.
Ken was a 1967 graduate of Lima Shawnee High School, and a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War. He retired from Embarq Telephone Company in Lima, where he had been an installer and repairman.
He was a member of Westside United Methodist Church in Lima. He was a member of the Saint Marys Rider Rooters, the Moulton Gun Club and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Lima American Legion Post. He loved spending time with his family and watching his kids and grandchildren play sports.
Funeral rites will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Wayne Street United Methodist Church in Saint Marys, Pastor Bill Cronk and Pastor Jon Kraner, officiants. Burial, with military rites, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, Saint Marys.
Friends may call from 2-8 P.M. Wednesday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, Ohio, where memorial gifts may be given to either Westside United Methodist Church or Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
