Thomas Klosterman
Thomas L. Klosterman, age 77, of Coldwater, died on Saturday February 13, 2016 at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born on September 23, 1938 in Montezuma to the late Walter & Alvina (Ranly) Klosterman. On October 14, 1961 he married Barbara (Day) Klosterman and she survives him.
He is survived by five children, Jeff & Rae Klosterman of Columbus, Mark & Sharon Klosterman of Coldwater, Robert & Karen Klosterman of Coldwater, Paul & Marlee Klosterman of Lebanon, and Richard Klosterman of Coldwater; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; siblings Earl & Eileen Klosterman of Taveras, Florida, Judy & Jim Rentz of Coldwater, Victor & Pat Klosterman of Chickasaw, Connie & Jim Vail of Centerville, Luke & Rene Klosterman of Coldwater and Gary & Betty Klosterman of Coldwater, Michigan; and in laws Margaret Klosterman of Coldwater, Connie Klosterman of Montezuma, Thomas O. & Lana Day of Mansfield, Georgia and Phil Attewell of Jacksonville, Florida.
He is also preceded in death by siblings Sr. Maria Klosterman, Mark Klosterman & Robert Klosterman; and in laws Patricia Klosterman, Rachel Klosterman and Diane Attewell.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater Knights of Columbus Council #1991 of which he was a former Grand Knight, St. Gaspar del Bufalo Assembly #825 of Minster for which he had served as the Faithful Navigator.
Tom served 22 years in the US Navy as a flight engineer and retired a Chief Petty Officer; he then worked for the Village of Coldwater as a water department supervisor. He continued working by driving bus for Coldwater Schools and the Amish.
He was also a member and past commander of both the Coldwater American Legion Post #470 and Coldwater V.F.W. Post #5135.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Holy Trinity Church, Coldwater. Burial with military rites will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 2 until 8 PM on Thursday and from 9 to 10 AM Friday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater.
