Light snow is expected to develop across the area after midnight, shifting to the southeast through the predawn hours. This band of light snow will affect the Tri-State region by the Thursday morning commute, eventually pushing south of the area by mid- morning.
Minor snow accumulations of less than an inch are expected, but cold ground conditions will allow for quick accumulation on any untreated surfaces. The main impacts are expected to be reduced visibilities and some slick spots on untreated surfaces.
Motorists should exercise caution. Plan extra time for the Thursday morning commute.

Richard Samples
Richard H. Samples, 77, of Rockford, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 26, 2016 in Ft. Myers, FL.
He was born on November 11, 1938 in Mercer County Ohio to the late John Stanley Samples and Nora Marie (Kettering) Samples. On May 7, 1960 he married Sondra A. Schlickman in Willshire, Ohio and she survives.
Richard attended the Chattanooga United Methodist Church and was a lifetime Mercer County farmer. He collected classic Ford cars, trucks and tractors and enjoyed family sports activities.
He is survived by his wife Sondra of Rockford, OH; two sons, Kerry D. (Rhonda) Samples, Defiance, OH, Steven S. (Teri) Samples, Rockford, OH; one daughter Susan D. (Ed) Vachino, Myerstown, PA; and seven grandchildren Christine (Tom) Tabor, Elise (fiance Greg Chrzastek) Vachino, Stephanie (Ricky) Bailey, Katelyn (Adam) Dumire, Beau Samples, Riley Samples and Xavier Samples; and one great grandchild Henry Tabor.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at the Haggard, Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, Decatur, IN.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Haggard, Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Brunstrup officiating. Burial will take place at the Willshire Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Willshire Park Fund.
