Vincent Kanney
Vincent C. Kanney, age 83, of Coldwater, died on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Mercer County Community Hospital, Coldwater.
He was born on July 22, 1932 in Coldwater to the late Aloys & Alvina (Braun) Kanney. On September 10, 1955, he married Marilyn Schoch and she survives in Coldwater.
He is also survived by six children: Michael & Linda Kanney of Celina, Jerry & Pat Kanney, Therese & Ed Hosbach, Joyce & Paul Howell, Bill & Kathy Kanney, and Lisa & Chuck Alig, all of Coldwater; 19 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren; a brother Aloys Kanney Jr. of Coldwater; and in-laws: Dot Kanney of St. Henry, Lucy Schoch of Minster, Millie Schoch, and Jeanette & George Fisher of Coldwater.
He is preceded in death by one grandchild; siblings, Bob Kanney, Betty & Dick Weitzel, Mary Ann Kanney and Margie Kanney; and in-laws, Della Kanney, Roger Schoch, Bud Schoch, Gerri & Ray Sininger, and Rita Noll.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, Men's Holy Name, Coldwater K of C #1991, Coldwater American Legion Post #470 and Mercer County Sportsmen's Club.
Vince was a veteran of the US Army, worked for the former Schoch Paint Store in Coldwater and retired from Pax Machine in Celina.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 21, 2016 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater.
Friends may call from 4 until 8 pm Sunday and 9 until 10 am Monday at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in St. Henry.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Caring For Carter C/O Peoples Bank Co. or the Cancer Association of Mercer County.
