* WHERE...Portions of Indiana, including the following counties, Dearborn, Fayette, Franklin, Ohio, Ripley, Switzerland, Union and Wayne, Kentucky, including the following counties, Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Lewis, Mason, Owen, Pendleton and Robertson, and Ohio, including the following counties, Adams, Auglaize, Brown, Butler, Champaign, Clark, Clermont, Clinton, Darke, Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Greene, Hamilton, Hardin, Highland, Hocking, Licking, Logan, Madison, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Ross, Scioto, Shelby, Union and Warren.

Bernadine Wendel
Bernadine L. "Bernie" Wendel, 88, New Weston, Ohio, died on March 19, 2016, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater, Ohio.
She was born January 15, 1928, in Osgood, OH, to the late Anthony and Sophia (Hartings) Drees. On May 1, 1948 in Montezuma, OH, she married the late Arthur Wendel, who died January 18, 2004.
Surviving are four children, Shirley (Nick) Wenning of Celina, OH, Jerry (Ann) Wendel of New Weston, OH, Karen (Mark) Brooks of Union City, OH and Elaine Witters of Beavercreek, OH; two sisters, Dorothy Kanney of St. Henry, OH and Regina Wendel of Fort Recovery, OH; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Lois Wendel of New Weston, OH; a sister-in-law, Sandy Drees of Ft. Wayne, IN; four in-laws, Nancy Wendel of Fort Recovery, OH, Rosemary Wendel of West Palm Beach, FL, Veronica (James) Conlin of Hamilton, OH and Leonard (Janice) Wendel of Ridgeville, IN.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gene Wendel, two sisters, Mary Mueller and Rose Gruss and three brothers, Clem, Larry and Walt Drees.
Bernie was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 345, Fort Recovery, OH. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, OH and the church's Altar Rosary Sodality. Bernie baked and decorated many wedding cakes and did so for over 30 years. She also made many quilts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio, with Fr. Ned Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Paul Cemetery.
Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Monday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Tuesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the State of the Heart Care or to the Briarwood Village Activity Fund.
