Melva McGee
Melva Kathleen (Young) McGee, age 92 of Celina, Ohio passed away at 8:47 p.m. on Sunday April 17, 2016 at the Miller Place.
She was born on Feb. 26, 1924 in Barry County, Michigan to the late Adolph & Bertha (Myers) Young. On June 29, 1946 she married James Lowell McGee, who died July 10, 1996.
Survivors include her sons & daughters-in-law Jim & Janet McGee of Celina, Darrell & Linda McGee of Celina, 4 grandchildren Adrienne & Jeff McGee-Sterrett, Mitchell & Amanda McGee, Nick & Vicki McGee, Hillary & Bob Greber, 7 great grandchildren Corey, Zach, Westley Gerber, Alexis, Josiah, Elliot McGee, Myra McGee, her sister Treva Hillary of Van Wert, and her sister-in-law Miriam McGee of Celina.
She was preceded in death by a great grandson Keegan Greber, two brothers & sisters-in-law Clifford & Zola Young, Donald & Bernice Young and her brother-in-law James Hillery.
Melva graduated from North Side High School in Ft. Wayne with the Class of 1941. She was formerly employed at The Daily Standard.
Melva was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Celina and a former member of the United Methodist Women at the Church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday April 22, 2016 at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina, with Rev. Diane Mendelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Swamp College Cemetery in Celina.
Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday April 21, 2016 and 1 hour before services on Friday at the Lehman-Dzendzel Funeral Home in Celina.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's United Methodist Building Fund or The Community Health Professionals.
