* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 12:40 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 13.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.0 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage just after midnight tonight. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.

Carl Borger
Carl B. Borger, age 89, of St. Henry, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016.
He was born April 9, 1927, in St. Henry, to the late Urban & Thresia (Uhlenhake) Borger. On November 8, 1952, he married Ethel (Huelskamp), who survives in St. Henry.
He is also survived by nine children; Dale & Vivian Borger of Sarasota, FL, Fred Borger of St. Henry, Beverly & Doug Thobe of Celina, Gary Borger of Coldwater, Mary & Greg Petkoff of Spring Valley, Brenda & Romie Schwieterman of Coldwater, Charles & Julie Borger of Washington Court House, John Borger of Mason, Jean Borger of Jeffersonville, IN; a son in-law Kevin Wyatt; 15 grandchildren; a sister, Merdella Schwieterman of St. Henry, and a sister in-law, Esther Borger of Celina.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Wyatt, and siblings: Robert & Rita Borger, Melvin Borger, and a brother in-law, Cy Schwieterman.
Carl was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Philothea; he was a lifelong farmer, and a member of the Farm Bureau. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean Conflict and earning a Purple Heart. He was also a member of the St. Henry American Legion Post 648.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Philothea. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Philothea.
Friends may call from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday and from 9:00 to 10:00 AM on Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home, St. Henry.
Memorials may be made to Mercer County Right to Life or Radio Maria.
