Helen Resler Hanger
Helen Resler Hanger passed away, October 22, 2015.
Born in Fort Recovery, Ohio on March 25, 1923. She was a 1941 graduate of Fort Recovery High School. She earned her nursing degree in Dayton, Ohio, lived and worked as an RN in Tucson, AZ and San Luis Obispo, CA.
Married Irving S. Hanger and moved to Oregon in 1948 residing in Woodburn, Salem, Amity, and McMinnville. She worked at the State Hospital, Salem General Hospital and McMinnville Hospital. A retired RN and previous co-owner of two livestock auction businesses in McMinnville and Corvallis.
A member of the Presbyterian Church, she made certain that old friends and new faces were greeted with a friendly handshake and welcoming smile. Helen was quick to lend a helping hand and never short on conversation. A quick wit, smile, chuckle, or laughter was sure to follow.
She enjoyed animals, gardening, reading, pinochle, genealogy and swimming.
Survived by son, John and wife Paula Hanger of Fallon, NV, daughters Barbara Hanger of Maui, Doris Hanger of McMinnville, and granddaughter, Ashley Payne, step granddaughters Paris and Dusty Ham, Savannah and James Gonzalez and great-grandchildren Madyson, Merisa and Sephra.
Preceded in death by her parents and brother John Alva Resler and Irving S. Hanger.
