* WHERE...In Indiana, Wayne County. In Ohio, Auglaize, Darke, Mercer, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby Counties.
* WHEN...Until 6 PM EST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes.

Rita Stammen

Mary "Rita" Stammen, 92, Fort Recovery, Ohio, died on September 9, 2016, at The Gardens at St. Henry, St. Henry, Ohio.

She was born March 15, 1924, in Fort Loramie, OH, to the late Frank and Hedwig (Schulze) Huber. On September 14, 1946, she married Melvin Stammen, who died April 1, 2000.
       Surviving are four sons, Ken (Pat) Stammen of Fort Recovery, Ron (Mary Lou) Stammen of Fort Recovery, Dan Stammen of Fort Recovery (Deb Abels) of Celina, OH and Steve Stammen of Fort Recovery; a daughter, Kathy (Ron) Ontrop of St. Henry, OH; two sisters, Mildred Siefring of Celina, OH and Betty Feltz of St. Henry; two brothers, Paul (Barb) Huber of North Star, OH and Louis (Janie) Huber of Versailles, OH; sixteen grandchildren, Jeff, Tim, Todd, Marty, Tony & Jason Stammen, Rob, Brian, Doug & Brad Ontrop, Jodi Wendel, Lori Thein, Amy Wendel, Chrissy Bergman, Kim Niekamp and Lisa Overman; a sister-in-law, Diane Huber of North Star; and an in-law, Sr. Esther Ann Stammen of Mishawaka, IN.
      Preceding her in death is her son, John Stammen; 1 great grandchild, Luke; siblings, Eleanor (Virgil) Schoenlein, Norbert Huber, Dolores (Lavern) Rindler, Herbert (Dorothy) Huber, Ruth (Carl) Stammen, Dorothy (Othor) Barga and Frank Huber; brothers-in-law, Elmer Siefring and Tony Feltz; and in-laws, Werner (Norma) Stammen and Irene (Clarence) Broering.
       Rita was a bookkeeper for Stammen Fertilizer and was engaged in the family farm.
       She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 345, Fort Recovery, the St. Paul Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio and the church's Altar Rosary Sodality.
       Rita loved to play cards, especially with the grandchildren. She also loved gardening and being with her family.
     A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at St. Paul Catholic Church Sharpsburg, with Fr. Matthew Feist officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.
        Calling is 2:00 pm-8:00 pm Monday and 9:00 am-9:45 am Tuesday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
